Iron Man Mark 1 Costume (Mark I, Mark One)

My good friend Steve and his son made this costume for last Halloween.  It’s an incredible costume.  He want’s to sell it on Ebay, so this past Sunday, I shot some video and stills for him to get the buzz going.  If you like this kind of thing, then you will pee yourself with joy.  This is a pretty great replica of the Mark One get-up from the movie Iron Man.

On Youtube  you can find other folks who have made a Mark 1, but this costume blows all the others out of the water.  Steve is truly an artist.  He painstakingly found every image of the Mark I he could find, and created a terrific replica of the Iron Man outfit in it’s earliest form.  The chest piece even lights up.

His son wore this on Halloween day and won every costume contest he went to.  Kind of amazing.  Lot’s of girls posed with him for pictures.  It’s funny what a little dress-up can get ya.

Gratitude

Thanks to….

Ryan Davis and Stacey Steger of Red Parrot Productions who booked us at The Fredonia Hotel and ran house sound.  Thanks for putting up with all my last second changes.  Thanks to Jess Purviance of East Texas Video/Cut It Live for multi track recording and mixing the audio.  You’re a real pro, and Nacogdoches is lucky to have someone of your calliber living and working here.  Thanks Aaron Diamont for getting off work, giving up one of your days off, and manning the cameras (and Nikki for running Corn Starch to Jess’ wife.)  Thanks David Stallings of Landmark Productions for the stage lights you didn’t know you loaned me.  I can’t wait for that invoice…  Thanks to Betsy Dupuis of Flash Pop Photography for shooting the stills.

Rocky.  You were great.  Your music is so good, and your hair is so long.  I may not let you “fix” my guitar again, but I always enjoy your show, and feel free to always credit me for your career.

To all those who came out to support us.  Thanks.  It’s pretty incredible to fill a room in Nacogdoches during the holidays when the students aren’t here.  We are grateful to have such loyal fans.  Who knows how the CD will turn out, but you guys helped make it an incredibly fun night!!   Our new single “Tina the Tranny” would have never come together without you.

As soon as we can, we will make the CD available to purchase.  When I get some free time, I’ll cut the video together as well.

Vicki and I are truly grateful for the good times with good friends!  Thanks one million!

The Fredonia Hotel Last Night

The subject sounds seedy. Like we met up with some sort of underground sex ring at a local hotel….. I’m kinda disappointed we didn’t do that. :)

So… yeah, our show last night at The Fredonia was a lot of fun.

Ryan Sitton opened, and I had never heard him before. Friendly guy with a lot of heart. If you like country music in the raw, then you’d probably dig Ryan.

Thanks to all those who came out to support us. We love performing, and we love that folks like to come out and watch.

I wish I could remember everything we did, but it all happens so fast, and then afterward Vicki got totally wasted.

Actually, she didn’t. got you.

I remember we improved about Rocky Tippit going on a strict Apple diet and the orange farmers getting mad and picketing outside his house. That was fun.

I also discovered Vicki thought “long long walk” was about a couple both discovering that they were gay…. that would be a funny situation.

Her ,” I gotta break it off. I’m gay.”

Him, “You gay? Yeah…… me too.”

Anyway, thanks to Ryan Davis and Stacey Steger for promoting the show. Thanks for The Fredonia for hosting, and come out next time, December 18th, when we record our first album…. Live! J

Guilt By Association

The McCain campaign is now implying that Obama is essentially a terrorist because he brushed shoulders with a guy who was a domestic terrorist 40 years ago.

Today at a McCain rally, Senator McCain Asked “Who is Obama really?” to which an audience member replied , “A Terrorist!” McCain noticed and let it go. No correction.

It seems that the McCain is deliberately stirring up the wasps nest to stimulate the crazies and actually cause some sort of attempt on Obama’s life from a right winger on the tipping point of insanity.

I even watched the clip from The View today where the pretty little Republican girl has also bought this kind of thinking.

So…. people are buying it, and spreading it. Obama was friendly with a man recently who was a radical in the 60s…. and therefore, it matters? He is guilty by association?

Palin is a Christian too. She’s the most overt Christian on either ticket. Apparently, she’s wearing her faith just enough to rally the Religious Right and not enough to compare her approach to the teachings of Christ. As a matter of fact, if the standard for her is guilt by association, then how does Jesus fair.

What was it Dave Matthews wrote: “Drinkers and Jokers…”

I know McCain is down in the polls right now, but I think his current campaign is way over the line. Dangerously over the line. Christian or not. Losing or not. They know they are poking a stick in a yellow jacket’s nest, and hopefully, it won’t be Obama that gets stung.
